FAQ: Immigration; E-Verify Compliance

Effective December 2009, U-M has been required to use the federal E-Verify system to verify the work eligibility of ALL employees working on a contract that has the E-Verify clause. New hires working on such contracts must complete the E-Verify process within three (3) business days of the employee’s start date. Existing employees must be E-Verified within thirty (30) calendar days of being assigned to a covered contract.
